Crunch de Credit

It's ok, business is booming it's not a disaster for me at least, thank goodness...

This post is just to say that times are tough in the world of retail, people are tightening their purse strings and cutting back on those little luxury items. Last week's food bill for my family was close to the equivalent of (see right) a lovely pair of Miu Miu clogs I have been err' ing over whether to buy. Lets just say the bill at Sainsburys ( other supermarkets are available) was a sobering experience.

So with this in mind, what's going to make us want to spend? Is it the amazing 'almost giving it away' sales that are still going on? Is it the mass produced cheap fashion product that is only a few £'s so we can justify it budget wise? I'd like to think the 'crunch de credit' is making companies get a bit more creative in terms of how they are selling and what they are selling?

I'm lucky to be working with some amazing clients at the minute who know that they need to be clever and creative to make a dent in the already flooded footwear market. One of my client's lookbook and initial trade press goes out next month and I feel so proud to have been involved in it. Not only is this new brand exciting and innovative it's also supporting animal/ eco friendly products and European footwear manufacturing.  Watch this space as I will be posting the press coverage as it hits the magazines.
